I'm sure there's some kind of irony in a "happy new year" 2 weeks into February . . . .

The good news is that it's a new season, and I've only missed the first 2 events.  It's going to be a banner year.

a) Yes, I'm alive.

b) No, we're not still moving.

c) Yes, it's the last time I plan to go through that much fun.

d) No, I still haven't found everything.  I don't plan to have everything accounted for for at least 3 or 4 more months.

So the good news -- most of the household stuff is done.  Fish tanks have been partially broken down, and the first set of tanks should be moved later today & setup tonight/tomorrow.  That should at least make it easier to bring the larger critters over.  Garage is about 50% done -- it's amazing what makes it in to the garage after a couple years.

New house is coming along -- unpacking slowly but surely, getting rid of the  LARGE pile of trash that the previous owners left behind (thanks, guys).  Dumpster showed up today, and a gardener is eval'g the side yard to sod.  Hopefully, we'll get the dogs moved over by this weekend.

Still lots of work to do at both houses -- maybe I should have taken next week off.

So, we've packed most of the day-to-day stuff up, have most everything loaded on the truck, and are solidly on our way for "moving".  Couple minor casualties so far, but it doesn't look like anything major.

So, with that out of the way -- let's get right down to complaining:

The last time I checked, having a "RESERVATION" meant that you actually had a tangible place holder or a confirmed spot in line for something.  While this was MY understanding of "reservation", it's clearly different than what UHaul has as a definition of "reservation" . . . . which seems to be something like "You can have what you need, unless there's someone else that also needs the same thing at a similar time.  Then, we'll over-book, change your reservation, and tell you at the last possible minute (less than 18 hours from scheduled pickup) that we're competely changing your schedule.  And oh yeah, it says 'subject to availability' when you make a reservation, so that means we can overbook whenever we feel like.  And oh yeah, nobody can help you in the Corporate office, so you have to call the branch office . . . . who's an independent, and has no control over scheduling (supposedly)."

AVOID Uhaul like the plague . . . . this evidently happens all the time.
